I have received a JD model 670 4x4 compact tractor from my relative's estate but don't have any idea what it might be worth or what year it is. It only has 632 hrs and is very clean, has the big turf tires and runs great (don't believe it spent any time out of cover). I know the model number M00670A104116. Is there anyway to determine it's year and value? I don't really need it and want to sell it but not give it away. I am located in central VA.

If you knew the year you could go to http://www.machinerylink.com/resources/uevg/ to get an approximate value. Maybe you can contact John Deere with the serial number to get the year. By the way where are you located? Maybe someone on this forum would be interested.

Welcome blackdmd,

The man , that you need to talk to is Roy Jackson. He's on here quite a bit, and owns a JD 670. He a great guy, and I'm sure will help you out. And as soon as he sees your post, he'll, I'm sure, answer it. Nice tractor those 670's. Good Luck.

You can go to to www.tractortips.com and use their serial number lookup to determine the age of your tractor. Yours appears to be a 1991. Good Luck.

Steelfan, thank you for your kind words!!!!

I concur with maxwell...the Serial Number falls in the 1991 range of numbers.

blackdmd, I own a 1991 670 MFWD. It has a loader. A year old Befco 60" rear finishing mower was part of the deal. The tractor had exactly 600 hours on it and was in excellent condition.
I paid $8500 for it in south central Pennsylvania almost exactly a year ago.

As mswanson wrote in his post, you can go to Machinerylink.com to find out whjat prices dealers are asking around the country. Here's the link.

I think you'll get around $8000.
