    You say the local guys reccomend 40-70 HP. Are they local dealers or grape farmers, or do they run regular farms? You should follow their advice if they are farming like you will be doing. Look around at other grape farmers in the area if there are any, and see what they use. I know VA Tech here in SW VA has all kinds of info about vineyards, so I feel like a school near you has info to help out. Maybe your local extension agent has info, too.
