I am buying 40 acres of shinnery/sand in a few days and will need a CUT very soon. The land is RAW and approx. 15 acres native grass and 25 acres Post and Blackjack Oak. Sand is very deep. 3'-6' maybe. There is good water in the area at around 60' static, 80' bottom. There is also muni water available, (at a price). I will have to build 400' of road and a pad just to get started.

Which 38-50HP CUT W/FEL be enough to move material, cut paths, shred, till and plant bermuda and trees?

Welcome to TBN... lots of members in Texas.

I've only had limited experience with sand and we needed a track loader... it was a little CAT like a Bobcat with tracks... very powerful and sand was no problem.

I'm sure you will have some good replies soon.

Check with TEXASJOHN, he has a real good write up on his Kubota Grand L5030 HSTC which I am sure would be useful regardless of the brand.

My preference is Kubota, but any of the top brands are a good choice.
