JD 4100 Price Check Please
Greetings everyone! I am in the process of shopping for a used JD 4100 to replace my current JD 316. The 316 is a great tractor but just not big enough for my needs. I finish mow about 3 acres and remove snow from a 50' gravel driveway. While it handles the mowing fine, especially with a Swisher 44" trail-mower, the snow removal is a problem. I've priced a couple 4100s locally and was hoping someone could give me an idea of whether the prices are too high. The specs follow:
1. 2001, hst, 4wd, 95 hrs, 410 fel, 60"mmm $15,400
2. 2000, hst, 4wd, 180 hrs, 410 fel $12,500

I just bought a new 4110 Hydro, 4x4, 410 FEL, Woods RB60 rear blade, JD 54" front blade and Imatch for around 16K from a dealer in PA.

Re: JD 4100 Price Check Please
I paid about 14K before tax for a 4010 w/ 60" MMM, FEL, Imatch, and ballast box. I really wanted a 4110 but it was just out of my price range. Those prices sound pretty fair. With that many hours they are both about new. I probably would have bought a used one if there wasn't so many incentives at the time.
Good Luck!

The prices on both tractors sound very reasonable. The low usage hours make both of them pretty much new. I'd buy based on weather or not you need to mow with your tractor. If you buy a mower for the lower priced unit, your total cost will be right in the ballpark of the higher priced unit.

Thank you very much for your input. I am close to making a decision on one of these machines. I'll let you know how I make out!
