NewGuy:
I'm in the same back and forth you were with that thread on the 4530 vs. 5035 shuttlles. I have two dealers within 25 miles, one of them only about 11 miles away. Specs are pretty close on both tractors with the main exception in 50 vs. 42 horsepower and 4 cylinders on the 5035. The one thing I do like about the 4530 shuttle is the weight. 5720 vs. 4939 on the 5035 shuttle. But you also get about 9 more horsepower at the PTO on the 5035. That may come into play if I want to eventually do some hay baling down the road a bit. I do like the standard rear remote on the 5035 too. The extra $3K is not a deal breaker, but is a new implement if you look at it from that direction. Ahhh, decisions. decisions.

I originally considered a Mahindra years back and though I don't know if it is still the case but there is not a lot of dealer representation around here. Globally I believe Mahindra is the most widely used tractor there is. The US market relatively speaking is small. My understanding is they are huge in India and would not being doing so much business if they weren't built well. People in those areas can't afford a lot of repairs. Congrats on your purchase and enjoy.

Good lord that thing has some massive front tires! :licking: congrats, unless youre geriatric, you should soon develop an immunity to the clutch/loader movements as your body gets used to them. Enjoy your new toy!

Nice looking tractor. Congrats.
Mine is a 2008 Mahindra 5525 with the ML250 FEL, skid steer bucket attachment.
Have fun.

Great looking tractor, now don't put off the installation of that grill guard until it's too late. ;)

Hello "NewGuy"... great tractor!!
I'd sell a Corvette any day for a good tractor.
Now let's talk the wife into attachments... backhoe perhaps!?

I have a 4530 and I do hay with it. I am using a IH 990 haybine and a NH315 baler. Either tractor would do the job, but if I had to make the choice today I would still go for the extra weight of the 4530. Keeps the baler and a wagon load of hay from pushing ya around.

Yea, I even had my local dealer give me the same advice. He asked what I would be using it for and basically mirrored what you said. How long have you had your 4530, and how has she stood up for you. Have you ever felt you would like to have gone with a 5530 for any reason, or is the 4530 all the beast you have needed.
On the baler, you have no issues with the pto power at all? I need to research that baler model. Thanks.
