I have a chance to buy a Kubota M4050 from my friend who's in the scrap business.

They've tried to start this tractor with no success. They say it has very low compression.
There's not a salvagable piece of sheet metal on it, everything is bent and/or has rust rot.

Tires are no good at all.

No info on trans, hyds etc.

I can't find any prices on engine parts online yet.

But do you think it's worth .25/lb?

It weighs around 3-4K lbs according to info I've collected so that means $750-$1000.


Hmmmm...... decisions decisions.... :confused2:

i would not give junk iron price for that tractor.an heres why,you really dont know what all is wrong with it.it needs new tires thats close to $1500 new motor $3000 or more possable hydro pump work $1500 plus other things.youve already looking at $6000 or more for a junk tractor.take that money an put on a new 1.

As badly as I hate to see old tractors get squashed, I did pass on this one.

Closer inspection also revealed a lot of diesel in the engine oil.

There are no aftermarket parts available locally. All the engine parts would have to come from Kubota or from an online aftermarket source.

It's a shame that it was too far gone to save.
