Deere 5083E limited VS. Kubota M8540

I think you were looking at a different model.

The 5083E-5101E has two cab doors and the 3pt hitch does not use chains. Are there parts on the tractor that aren't mined and forged in Augusta, GA? Of course.

In 2010 2 cab doors became an option and 2 svc standard. My 2010 has the sliding bar for the 3pt, but the 2011 has chains now and the fuel tank no longer comes up the inside of the fender.

I recently bought an M7040SUD, at the time comparing it to a Deere 5075E. It's a decent step up to the 5083E. The 5075E wasn't quite as refined as I would have liked, even considering it's just a basic tractor. But one thing about kubota finance rates, you can buy down the 72 month rate to 0%. Depending on how much you're putting down, this can be a nice option. They don't advertise it, but it was an option when I bought.

Gotcha. Mine's an 09 and I haven't shopped since.

GA is a common assembly point for most companies. Very little is actually built there. The likly case is as was described where major assemblies are done elsewhere and simply bolted together in GA. I don't have any special knowledge about that particular model, but this would be the norm in the tractor business.

The MX10 can be set up as a trailing mower and does not have to be 3pt. I have a 10' Kodiac on my TN75 and love it. I couldn't imagine it as a 3pt lift though, it would be too heavy.

I don't know the Kubota, it was never in the running for me, but I took a very good look at the Deere and was about to buy it. Dealer quote was $43k which was pretty competetive. I only ended up the the NH because it fell into my hands at half that price. It's a very good tractor but it's not nearly as nice as the 5083.

well as an update, i bought the 5083E limited with a 563 heavy duty NSL loader and an mx10 full mount 3pt. I have used a mx10 on my neighbors 5510 deere and it kept the front end light but he had NO ballast what so ever on that machine. I got all four tires loaded and 4 suitcase weights for the front end, I shouldn't have a problem and if i do, thats why they split those brake pedals!

I'm not familiar with the MX10, but we used a 10' Woods 121 3-point for years and the weight was not a problem. When we replaced it with a Woods DS1260, we went with a pull type as it is much heavier and we mow some fairly steep grades.

My 5083e thinks my mx8 is too heavy. It handles the mower, but I definitely know it's there. When I road the tractor I lower the tail wheels to the ground to get rid of some weight.

AGGIE00- do you have your tires ballasted and front weights? I got all 4 of mine loaded with beet juice and I have 400lbs of front weights. Call me crazy but I think that should be enough, if not, I can always get more weights, or run with the loader on.
