"but if you get it I'll be mighty envious."
Didn't go for 4300.
The tractor is in southern VA and would have cost $600 to ship it (although, since I turned the deal down, I confirmed access to a trailer). Would have been a 6 hour drive just to see it. Also, the fixed ROPS was just a little too tall to fit through the garage door. That wouldn't have been a show stopper though.
Wifey said we've got to look around locally (PA, MD, DE) and we want more of a down payment. Also, we never got an answer from the seller on warranty (it was a dealer, but I'm not sure if it was a Deere dealer.
Not a big deal, passing on this one. I'm really more in the looking stage now anyway. And, there's at least 4 or 5 Deere dealers in a 60 mile radius.
My 670 is a nice machine, but no live PTO. I am looking for live or independent PTO. A few more HP would be nice too. We've only got three acres, so the 4300 would be a little bit overkill....but I could live with that.
Frankly, the 790 is still my favorite. I'd rather have the independent PTO, but I could live with the dual stage clutch. And, of course, for a few thousand more then the 4300 price, I could have a new 790. No interest in a Hydro tranny, BTW.
If anyone else is interested in that 4300, do a search for 4300's on Machinefinder.com.
