I think we'd better start a construction bashing thread and leave this one alone.
I've got to agree with shane on this one. Although I don't live in New England, I find it hard to believe that there are no decent contractors there.
When we built our house a couple years ago, the parts we contracted out were done by skilled, dedicated professionals that didn't cut corners or gouge us on price. I could have hardly been more happy with the quality of work 90% of them did.
We did have a problem with the insulator, apparently we weren't the first or last, since he's slowly been blacklisted in the local construction industry.
