I think we'd better start a construction bashing thread and leave this one alone.

I've got to agree with shane on this one. Although I don't live in New England, I find it hard to believe that there are no decent contractors there.

When we built our house a couple years ago, the parts we contracted out were done by skilled, dedicated professionals that didn't cut corners or gouge us on price. I could have hardly been more happy with the quality of work 90% of them did.

We did have a problem with the insulator, apparently we weren't the first or last, since he's slowly been blacklisted in the local construction industry.

You got that quote wrong.

There are lots of extremely qualified professionals, with out any skill base out there but most have not obtained the skills to complete any work fully, let alone do any work that they were paid to do.

Sadly this seems true !
