Can parts for new idea mowers still be found?
Bought a new idea 256 sickle mower, and realized I'm missing the part that connects to the chain that connects to the tractor to lift the bar as you lift the 3pt, also the part that connects on the right side that attaches under the tractor that keeps it from coming into contact with the rear tire, found a manual on eBay, but just wondering if anyone has one and if so where are you getting parts for it? Thanks

Re: Can parts for new idea mowers still be found?
My father owns a hardware store and used to sell New Idea equipment until the late 80's early 90's. He still has quite a few parts left although I have my doubts on him having the ones in question. I will pm you the phone # as it can't hurt to ask

New Idea was absorbed by Agco Corp and is supported as a heritage product. According to their website you can go to any AGCO or Massey Ferguson Dealer. I doubt that all parts would be available, but the common ones would be.
You can view the parts manuals at AGCO Parts Books
