Comparison Better Mower - Kub BX or Deere 1026

So, which mows better with a belly mower, a sub Kubota, deere, or an x500 series deere?

500 series deere.

I currently mow with a BX and its cut is far inferior to the x540 I had previous. BX's tip speed is too low.

This does not answer you question directly, but a subcut I am familiar with is my neighbor's Massey GC2400 series and the cut is about as impressive as I have seen on a lawn.

The closest I can get is we have a BX2660 and John deere 2305; can't tell any difference in quality of cut under normal conditions. The edge goes to the BX in really rough conditions that most people won't encounter. Both cut as well as our JD425.

As for features, the edge goes to the 1026R; very hard to match them.

A 1999 deere 425 with 1500 hrs, and 54C deck, standard blades does a better job mowing than a 2011 Deere 1026R with 50 hrs, and 54D deck, standard blades on my rough 1/2 acre of grass. The longer wheelbase and lack of center rollers of the new Deere are its hindrance in this application. The new Deere will do everything else twice as well, it should, it costs four times as much.

As far as mowing, I would go with the 1026. Can't beat the Autoconnect and 7-Iron.
