Thinking about buying myself a new tractor of the newer model #1YP5065ELBB006657, with a 553 Standard Loader and $1.5K Implement Bonus plus 0% finance for 60 mos.
Here is the break down of the total cost without any down payment taking into consideration yet:

$26,495.00 John Deere 5065E Utility Tractor (listed price)
$6,200.00 Standard Loader (list priced)
_________

$32,695.00 (total)
$1,500.00 (discount)
__________
#31,195.00 final cost

Is this price reasonable? Had never bought a new tractor before and not very familiar with tractor products and pricing wise...

that sounds right for JDs as they are always higher than the other tractors.

You ought to be getting 10% to 15% off of list, not including any other discounts.
Go back and get you some more $$$

Not around here!

I think you can do better than that though, I'd say 15% off or $27,790 would be a much fairer price. Sometimes your locale will cause the price of tractors to be higher, but less than 5% off is not a good deal.

Ok, so a couple of you suggested that a 15% off the listed price would be a fairer price but how do yo haggle to get that 15% taking off? Do you just tell the dealer that that's what you want or is an automatic option that the dealer suppose to offer it to you or how does it work? Would this 15% works on regular cars too or only on tractors? Advise, anyone?

15% is just typical what you can get off of a John Deere dealer. If you don't ask, he ain't going to give it to you.
I bought a new JD about a year and a half ago. I figured out what tractor I wanted. I started calling dealers and getting quotes over the phone. I narrowed it down to the lowest two. I went in person to those and ended up going with my closest dealer I already did business with. His quote was the second lowest and he won becuase he was the nearest to me and was one I already had a relationship with. IF he had been bad high he wouldn't have gotten my business.

Just go to John Deere's build your own on the model you want. Get all your figures printed off and get after him. Tell him this is what I am willing to pay are you willing to work with me.

Pretty much what dusty3030 said. I hate dickering and explain that to the salesman, that I am going to buy, so give me your best deal or I will go elsewhere. Even that may not always work as my Kubota salesman was too high on my last one. I told him thanks, but no thanks and was going to another dealer when he came down some more. I've bought there before, but you have to be prepared to go elsewhere.

I am not a good negotiator, so if I can do it, anyone can.

perfect example with a New Holland. Workmaster 65, 4x4 with New Holland 625tl loader, 0% for 60 months $29,250 and this tractor has a 4 cylinder motor unlike Deere's 3 cylinder, the new holland has 3 point draft control, one rear hydraulic remote standard, telescoping 3 point links and adjustable. the Loader is also standard quick attach skid steer style......

you can get a new holland workmaster 75, 4x4 with loader for maybe $1000 more at the most than you can get that Deere 5065E...just fyi
