I bought a "Thumb" a few years ago and it sat unused until last year. Chopper, yes there are pre-drilled holes in the base plate.
Last year I bolted a 3"X3"X1/4" angle to the uprights on my pallet forks, then bolted the thumb to the angle. The set-up really works well. I use the forks (with thumb) on my tractor and on my skid loader. On the skid, it made short work of wrecking out an old wood frame building with metal siding and roof. I took the roof off, laid the sides down and stripped the metal skin off of the wood framing without getting off of the skid loader. Buried the wood in a burn pit and took the metal to the scrapper.
The thumb was an excellent purchase.

I had my thumb bolted to the top of my bucket. here's a thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/y...d-grapple.html where I moved it ut in front of my bucket. You have to brace the bucket or, you'll end up with a bent bucket
