I was just wondering if anyone has this
The Thumb. And mostly interested in if the base plate has bolt holes or is that what id have to add when I get it??
My thought is if It can be bolted that I can use it on more than one unit.

Looks like you just buy more base plates for swapping to different units.
I know adding a thumb to the back hoe was most useful add on ever purchased.
It looks like it is designed to be welded on, but by drilling some holes on each side of the swivel points, I believe that it could be bolted on. I think I would add some angle or channel to the top of the FEL bucket prior to attaching it just for extra strength. If you dont have a welding machine, I think that could also be bolted in several spots also. Use large thick washers on the underside.

I have one.I welded an angle iron to the top of my HD bucket and tacked the nuts to the underside.The Green Machine's Thumb has bolt holes.I can easily remove the whole thing if required.
Is it electric operated? Their web site said they were now black power coated. Looks very nice the way you mounted it.

I also have The Thumb. I built up a base to bolt the mounting plate on, as I have a homemade bucket and it's not a standard size. The Thumb is very sturdy and has performed every bit as well as I have hoped it would. I think I can safely say I'm not babying it, and it has never even hinted at bending or breaking.

Looks like its a good thing to have. Im curious is that a 'homemade' bucket there?
Luckily mine is pretty beefy on the top lip. Apparently 18 years ago the dealer added some metal to it when I bought it new. I didnt think much of it then. But It was a good touch for a dealer to add the extra metal to re inforce the top lip. Ive pulled and pushed with it alot and had chains hooked and surely id have bent it it it were not for the extra piece of metal he added.

It doesnt have the 'teeth' but is a bit wider.It says it had 1 inch pins where the thumn im not sure the size. of pins. I believe for what it is 1 inch pins would be quite hefty myself..Not sure if anyone has this setup or not.
