    Default Russian tracked vehicle TTM-3?

I hope to get a little more information here about this vehicle. I'm considering trying to purchase this "Transport" TTM-3 from Russia. Haven't seen in it person but have talked to two russians that have maintained and operated this machine. It's a one owner purchased new for $100,000, currently under 600 hrs, 4 man cab, new tracks, well maintained w/records, all manuals in english come with it as well as a few new spare parts. These are quite heavy and appear well made, they seem to be popular in northern regions of Europe and with oil service companies but I don't have any personal experience with one.

Looking for opinions/input from anyone that's been around or operated one (or something similar) concerning quality, durability, weak points etc? If the price is right and I don't find anything too concerning with this model TTM-3, I am probably going to buy it. Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of info online about TTM so any thoughts or information would be much appreciated.

Dear Sir: It is your decision to make. But you should ask yourself these questions first. (1) Are the sellers reliable? (2) Are your funds secure? (3) What guarantee do you have that you will receive the vehicle after the funds are sent and received? (4) Do you really want to take this chance? (5) What are the shipping costs and can you really be guaranteed a delivery of said item in previously described condition? I, myself, wouldn't even considered this purchase. In essence, there are too many possibilities of the transaction being a SCAM.

Pretty Similar in Design it appears to the following in regards to looking at the tracks :

    KMC Kootrac / Kootenay Tractor

Does not float , choker arch on back comes off so platform can be used for ?????? . If you ever see one in service , it is like " Wow " I want one !!!
As Fast as a Rubber tired skidder but able to go places and slopes that you could only take a Dozer .

I thought about it and asked my russian friend to find out something about this company. He said that it is quite big company, working with Gazprom, Rosatom for years (huge energetic companies). This machine is similar to Foremost vehicles(Nodwell,...) as i understood. Unfortunatelly they dont have web-site in english(only brochure with phone number and vehicles descriptions). They promised to let me know about shipping costs soon. I will post here these costs (maybe somebody is interest)

Tracked Transporters are relatively easy to source from Japanese manufacturers (kubota, Komatsu, Morooka, Yanmar..etc) - attached is a link detailing the used range available-

    https://www.machinerytrader.com/list...nSearch=Search

The challenge is their viability in your specific application & ready availability of manufacturers support given the higher maintenance/parts consumption of any tracked machine, make no mistake a tracked transporter is a highly specialised/high operating cost machine not a "toy".

There is no way I would contemplate purchasing/running a Russian tracked transporter - IMO all too hard & too much risk, & with the manual transmssion (as you have described) it would be an absolute "orphan" in the market - and at anywhere near the max quoted speed of 54kph the tracks, chains, rollers, idlers & sprockets are going to have an extrememly limited life........add to that the amphibious capabilities & this "thing" is going to cost mega $'s/hour to operate/maintain.....

If you value/need the amphibious capabilities, for c.20% or less of the price, an Argo with tracks will give you c.90% of the "fun factor"....or spend you hard earned cash on a Hagglund:

    http://www.pinzgauercanada.com/Hagglund.htm

BTW I've nothing against Russian built machines having run & still running some Belarus tractors......

    This is the following company:

Вездеходы, внедорожники, болотоходы, гусеничные тягачи и техника, мобильные буровые установки, разбрасыватели удобрений, газ, бобр, кержак, ухтыш, уаз, hagglund bv 206, гусеничная техника

They apply sales and after sales commitments (warranty, service, parts delivery), but only in Russia and the post soviet countries.

I wouldn't sign on that deal. Too expensive and risky.

I see you have a Foremost. So you know what costs are involved with a track machine.

As to this one, from what you posted, many major parts are from western suppliers. The only thing that would concern me would be trying to find parts out of Russia for things of Russian origin.

    To the OP:

What is your intended use for this vehicle? This machine really isn't like the common tracked carriers like those produced by Yanmar, Terex, ASV etc. It is more like the rubber-tracked steel grouser sno-cats like those previously made by Bombardier, Tucker, Thiokol-DMC-LMC. The Bombardier Muskeg is the most well known for heavy industrial use in the northern snow, prairie, mud and muskeg. As was posted on your other thread KMC has or is trying to enter the market abandoned by Bombardier. Tucker is also making new machines for the agriculture and snow-cat markets.

For $100,000.00 you can get quite a North American built vehicle.

This forum here: http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/forumdisplay.php?f=65 seems to be the primary forum for sno-cats and the like.

Seems like a ton of money, with more to be spent on freight, for as others pointed out, the ultimate orphan machine. Some North American iron would probably make you happier.

From what members have posted there are lots of tracked vehicles available in this country. Seems it would be much easier to obtain parts and service for those purchased here.
