Looking at a used CT122 and noticed the weight of this thing is over 2k lbs! Most compacts this size seem to be around 1500. Not sure if that extra weight is a good or bad thing? Anyone know why this tractor is so heavy compared to others?

General thoughts on bobcat vs deere, kubota, yanmar?

That tractor is made by Kioti and is their CK20. It is a mid-size compact w/ good wt.. Cast iron vs. cast aluminum.
Different people have different opinions on wt. but usually the more weight, the more durable. I'd rather have the wt..
Not sure about the Bobcat version but the Kioti loader lifts 1062 lbs.. That's pretty good for a tractor that size. Most
@ 7-800 lbs..

The extra weight is good for ground engagement tasks, but a bit of a liability for mowing and on manicured lawns. Great diggers though.

Extra weight means stronger castings. If you are the Hank hill type, get a set of turfs for the mowing season. Our 1635 weighs 3527, add the RFM over 4,000, and does a fine job of mowing.
