NH TN65
Hey all,
new here, great site. was recommended by some on the garden web. anyway, as you can see from the "subject" am looking at the JD5320, Kubota M5700 and NH TN65. i currently have a jd2020 w/loader. i have a woods 720 bush hog, a very heavy duty tiller (maschio) needing 50hp on the pto and a five tine chisel plow. my tractor is 35 years old and i'm amazed at all the new inovations...geez the 5320 has 4 transmissions to choose from. would appreciate any and all input on these machines that you could offer to help with my decision.
thanks,
paul

Are you looking at used tractors? Kubota doesn't have (I don't believe) an M7000 any longer -- they have an M6800 and M8200 -- and if I was buying a new tractor, I'd buy the M8200. It has plenty of PTO HP to run almost any attachment you wanted to run.

The John Deere's are very nice tractors, but for my use, I can't justify the cost.

I do not know much about the NH, so my opinions are baised towards orange /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I just got the 5420 and I love it. Baled some oat straw today and it worked flawless.

Hey,
yes, you're right...it's the M5700, went back and changed it. no, i'm not looking at used. at this point, with my trade, i'd be getting about the same price for either tractor. JD offered me 9500 for my trade with a 29500 price on the 5320 w/521 loader. that would give me a 19500 price tag. He inflated the tractor and trade price. my tractor is worth closer to 6000. got a price of 26500 on the M5700 w/LA1002 loader and 6000 for the trade, giving me a 19500 price. we did discuss 4wd on the M5700, i'm not sure if the price he gave was for 4wd, will have to check. the TN65 i found was a lease return w 100 hours but a new warranty and finance deal for 19500 w/ loader...that doesn't include the trade.

The M-numbers are a flying....I think you mean M5700, not M7500. Anyway, here is a link to the prices Carver Equipment charges for an M5700.

Hi, I'm with cowboydoc on this one. My dad has a 5320 Cab version and its really nice we have had it for 2 years now and no problems with it just some recalls for the really early versions. But they are really nice inside just like the 6000 series and up. The 5320 has a turbo engine so you will notice the extra power. When we used to cut our hay it was up by the hood and we used a flail mower to chop it. The more ya look at them the more ya like!

The NH TN65D seems to offer you the most value @ $19.5k w/o trade… with a full factory warranty… 100 hrs. is spit on a demo/lease unit.

Nebraska Tractor Tests indicate the TN65 to be very underrated/ a sleeper according to NH advertised spec’s of 47 PTO hp vs. actual NTT of 52.8 PTO hp…

While I love the turbo of the JD 5320, I like the turbo of NH TN70/75 series even more so, besides the longer stroke on the Iveco’s 3 – cylinders and more generated overall torque on the New Hollands… (and the Perkins even more so than that! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

The Kubota M series is a quality tractor, however they all “scream” @ 2600-2800 rpm’s to achieve their rated PTO hp vs. 2000-2400 rpm for most all other Ag tractors, couple this fact with the Kubota “indirect” injection, the Kubota’s consume much more fuel over their useful life, costing more money and reducing engine life…

Take your JD 2020 and even selling outright for a street price of say ~ $4500-5000… you have now reduced the Net price of the NH TN-65D to ~ $14.5K… and in my estimation not too shabby for a “New-MFWD ~ 53 PTO hp “name brand” Utility tractor w/ FEL…/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif”
