Should I option the 3:73 rear end ratio instead of 3:55 with the new 8 speed transmission?
Will fuel mileage suffer much? Mostly running unloaded, but would rather have a little more snap off the line and
Tow ability. 80% city driving.

It has been ordered and I hope I can change it in time.
They asked me and started with the mileage ,bla, bla, blah....I'll call in the morning and change to 3:73.
I did opt for the air ride and can't wait to see how that rides compared to my 2500.
Thanks.

correction...the available rear end is a 3:92 not a 3:73 in a half ton and it gives it an 11,000 lb tow rating.
trying to get it changed, but I may have waited too long to change the order.

thanks to the cylinder deactivation 3.92 geared trucks get similar mpg to the taller gears as long as you don't like to drive 80 on the highway.
