The 15 yr old GT275 gave out on me today and I am in the market for a new mower.

I checked with the JD dealer and he quoted price of 3299 for 48 inch cut X300.

Do they have much room to move or is that pretty much a standard price.

I also looked at the D series, but was really no comparison.

I agree with rekees. The K46 is known to not be a durable transmission. The K58 is better, and the K71 is better than the K58. I've got a 12 year old John Deere GT235 garden tractor with the K71, and the tranny is still strong.

Thanks for your help.

I have kinda gone to the X320 with 54 or 48 deck. JD website lists it as $4299. Hope the dealer will knock some off that.

Now to sell the trusty old GT 275......

Old 275 is gone.....for $150.

Dealers 25 miles away from each other varied 300 dollars on the X320 cost. One stuck at list, other is 300 off list.

I really hate to pull the trigger on a 4k purchase, but will have to do it.

Now decide on the 54 or 48 inch deck.

Ordered X320 48 in deck about a week ago. Was supposed to be arrive in two days. Never did. Dealer gave me one with a 54 inch deck for 100 buck more. During the weekend he let me use a big commercial 60 inch ZTR. What a beast. Cut the 5.5 acres in no time. Can't afford the 8k or the damage I would do with it, so will stay with the X320 which arrived this afternoon. Not the machine the old GT275 was, but good enough for me.

I think you made a good choice and with a little TLC it will last for decades.

X320 is a good choice. I myself, like the 48" cut on it.
