I posted on here about needing to do some brush hogging.

Figured out I can get a mower I need used for around $3,000. It is a Brown and needs at least 50hp PTO and I believe up to 140hp.

Recommend some tractors. Maybe I can redneck rig the FEL off my current tractor on the new one...

4wd is cool but I could live without it. Think I would regret not having it but could live without it.

I kinda like this one:

Joe,
Which Brown cutter are you looking at? If your looking at the rotary cutter's then you would be fine at 50-60pto hp, but if your looking at the Brown Tree Cutter's, you really need more PTO hp and certainly some sort of forestry cage around the back of the tractor, as well as top. Also, those Tree Cutter's are HEAVY! You need a substantial tractor for them.

What size trees will you be cutting with the mower?

4-6 inches. Most will be laid down already.

I am also looking at the JD4020 which is like 90-100hp.

You should be able to get a JD2030, diesel with a loader for $10,000

Pretty good tractor? I think they look cool. Now I need to save some money up.

I've had mine 19 years. HI-LO is a weak link. I had to repair mine 12 years ago, not cheap to fix, may want to avoid HI-LO.
Since you want a loader, make sure it has the HD front axle.
