The old 455 is getting up in hours and years, as well as myself. I'm thinking of upsizing to the new 1025R. Trying to configure the new one the same as the old. FEL, 60" deck and 3pt. The 1025 Comes with the 3pt, 4 wheel and hi/low hydro. Plus it has a couple more pony's that the 455. So far one dealer wants to give me 4 K for my 455 and implements. It has 1375 hours new tires and is reasonably good cosmetic shape.

Anyone out there have any comments on the deal. They want 14K difference for the entire package.

What all you trading in and what are you getting?

Sounds good to me, compared to my trade of 4010 and purchase of 1025R. Love the 1025 except for almost double fuel consumption of the 4010 so far. Would prefer to have my R3s I had on the 4010. They have better grip for turning. The seat is SOOOO much better though.

The drive over installation of the MMM should be a big plus for the 1025.

$18K for a lawnmower sounds a bit high to me, but then I am not a JD buy at any price fan. Did you price it without the trade-in? Sounds like you aren't getting full value for the trade, but then I have no idea what a 1026 lists for other than too much.

That seems a little high. Mine was a bit less and that was configured in the same way but also had a snow plow.

Change colors and same money. I don't think it matters what color you go, JD green costs extra!:irked:

I think that you might wan't to sell your 455 outright first then shop for a replacement instead of trading it in. This should put you in a better position to shop for a new one. You can get about 15% off list price buying new and still qualify for 0% financing deals if you need it.

It sounds like to me they are giving you nothing for you current tractor and charging the going price for the 1025.

I traded my 4010 with bush hog for a 1025 with new Frontier bush hog. Cost me $12,300. The 4010 needed about $1,300 in repairs that were factored in. They basically gave me $5,000 for the 4010 vs. $6,500 if it didn't need any repairs.

Just do it. The 1025R is twice the tractor of the 455 at four times the price. Two years later I'm stihl happy with my R, and my neighbor's shiny new X739 doesn't even phase me.
