Default Massey Ferguson 1705/1710 compared to 1715/1720

I am looking at buying a Massey Ferguson GC 1700 series tractor and I was comparing the stats from their brochure. I noticed that both the 22.5 and 25HP models use the same engine with the same displacement. The machine dimensions, tranny and 3pt hitch are all the same. The only difference in the 1705/1710 compared to the 1715/1720 models is that the engine speed is rated 400rpm higher for the 25HP models. (2600-3000)

I might be crazy here but if my engine has the same displacement I should be able to achieve the same HP at the higher RPM regardless of what the sticker says my 17xx number is?.

So are they asking me to pay a couple thousand more to run my tractor at a higher RPM for the 1715/1720 to get to the 25HP? Maybe I am missing something or do not get something conceptually. Any help explaining this would be appreciated

Here is where I got my data:

Yup, essentially that appears to be correct.

If that's indeed correct you can probably get the extra rpm via some ignition modifications.

I called AGCO and they would not give me an answer, they told me to ask the dealer. When I went to the dealer I asked the same question. The mechanic first told me that the pumps were different but when I pressed him to tell me what the difference in max GPM's was between the two pumps we would not and I never ended up getting straight answer.

From the lack of answers I have to assume the tractors are the same.
