Been looking at all kinds of Compact Tractors. I stumbled across the LS Brand today. Dealer has the G3033 HST with FEL for $16,300 and the G3038 HST with FEL for $16,900. Any recommendations or thoughts on the LS tractors?

I don't know if those are good prices or not (but I'm sure some of our price-savvy LS owners will be along shortly). But for only $600 difference, I'd buy the 38 hp every time over the 33 hp, regardless of which brand I was shopping.

The only exception to that would be if size and maneuverability was important and the sizes of the machines jumped up from the 33hp to the 38hp.

I would get the extra hp. If you buy the bare minimum and get into a bind were you need that extra 5hp. You aren't going to be happy.

Which dealership you going too?

Get the extra HP ... 5 HP on a tractor essentially lets you jump up a foot (size) on your implements.

LS makes a good, dependable tractor.

Those are pretty good prices, and you definitely want the 3038, because the loader is rated for 300lbs more to max height.

My dealer lists the 3038 Shuttle for $15,800, and I'd say the HST is easily worth the extra $1100. Also, you can almost always talk them down on the price a little. I'd see if they'd go for $16,500 and not feel the least bit bad about it.

There are quite a few LS owners here, and there are very few problems reported, so that's a good sign.

I agree 3038 is well worth the extra with the increased loader capacity (LL3104 vs the 3102 on the 3033). If your planing on running much with the PTO the extra power is there too, also an extra pony with the shuttle.

Yep, I think the 3038 is well worth the extra money and for ease of use for my wife I think I will go with the HST. I wish the LS had a tilt wheel to fit her better but I'm sure it will be fine.

I looked at the loader spec for G3033 and G3038. Seems like the dimensions and specs are all the same except the lifting capacity. I can't figure out what causes the G3038 loader to lift more. Any idea?

I've wondered that many times myself.

Could be that the extra power lets them run a larger pump that puts out more pressure, or they can set the relief higher, and not worry about any added power draw because of the extra horsepower. Regardless, I'd love to know or certain.
