Hello, last fall we purchased a compact Massey 1742 cab model with the dl120 loader and cb 20 backhoe. We were initially considering the purchase of a deere 4520 cab model. The steep price point of deere was just too expensive to justify and the deere also only come with the hst. The local dealer also sells Mahindra tractors however we found he was too pushy with the sale. We visited the local Massey dealership and honestly fell in love with the tractor. The Massey, with the cab, backoe, loader and forks was approximately the same price as the deere with just the cab and loader! Not to mention the Massey comes standard with "creature features" such as a radio, mirrors, work lights, and a SCV on the rear! These were all features that had to be added on the deere.
We have used the tractor to assist in construction and snow clearing so far. The tractor has approximately 42 hours on it and there have been no issues at all! The only complaint is that the range selector is sometimes stiff and hard to change ranges. The loader hydraulics and backhoe hydraulics are very strong and quick. There are no issues with fogging windows as the heater warms up quickly and blows a good amount of air from the several directional vents in the ceiling.
