Tractor
still looking
I am shopping for a tractor to build a small motocross track, grading a 350' driveway, a little brushhogging, and other landscaping projects. Does anyone have any advise as to which tractor would be better, the jd 2520 or the kubota 2630? From what I've read they both seem very similar. The JD is about $1000 more expensive. Is it worth the extra money?

Thanks for any info anyone can give.

Saw both this weekend. No telescoping 3pt links on the JD and an anemic FEL capacity in the 200CX compared to the Kubota, according to the JD salesman. If the JD were $1000 less, maybe you'd have to think about it, but for $1k more, it would seem like a no-brainer to go with the Kubota 2630.

Check out a Massey Fergusen 1531. About the same size. Has a great design and every bit as refined if not more so than those two tractors.

I have another question. Are these tractors going to be big enough? The JD salesman is trying to talk me into a 3120. I think it would be perfect to get all my projects completed but overkill just to maintain things.

Either one will make you a good tractor. I was in the same boat as you looking at the Kubota and John deere and ended up going with the Kubota 2630 since it had more features that i liked and also the cheaper financing rates didn't hurt either. 3 range transmisson , stronger hydraulics, telescoping links, pinned swaybars instead of chains, were some of the features that helped me make my decision. That $1000.00 cheaper price will buy some attachments also. Good luck in your decision you won't go wrong with either one !
