Andy, you raise a good point about wear and total hours, but I would sure say I agree with jrepp on his estimate. My R4s are only slightly worn at 1200 hours. I should get my ruler out and measure mine and brand new ones the next time I go to the dealer, but I'd say only 20% treadwear is what I'm seeing, maybe less. The condition of the casings is a different story, but mine are holding up very well in spite of being in the TX sun. Is it possible that winter temperatures, snow, and maybe chemical exposure are more damaging to the rubber causing cracks and deterioration? I don't know, but I think I'll check on this some more.
