Anyone know if the IH 2000 front loader will work well and fit on an International 444 tractor ?

Anyone tell me if they've used an IH 2000 loader, and what they think of it ?

I had a 2000 loader on a 454. Extremely strong loader. I used to dig and doze with it with no problem. In my opinion, it was oversized for the tractor, even though mine came from the factory that way. You have to be aware that the loader can probably lift mote weight than your tractor's front axle is designed for, unless you have the industrial front end.

my tractor is a ih 340 and the 2000 model loader is great, fast and strong.

The 444 is included in the IH 2000 installation instructions (which covers multiple models). My 444 came with this loader properly fitted. I am challenged to sort out was is original as my example, as best I can figure, is a 444 transmission fitted with a 2444 body (but with 444 grill shell/hood). I might hazard the 2444 donated the loader as the frame and piping were proper, but the drive to the front pump was cobbed together from parts.

I have only used my loader with light loads, and it works fine. I replaced the control valve with aftermarket (rebuild parts for the original valve NLA) and built a new driveshaft from common Ford parts. Now it works even better by holding position, not leaking, and the driveshaft has no slop.

Next step is to add rear ballast (should be 1000 lb according to the IH 2000 manual) to be safe with a "real" load.

A IH 2000 loader is a very good loader that is built to be very stout. We had a 606 with a 2000 loader and it was a good match for that tractor. I have seen a 2000 mounted on everything from a 340 to an 806.

I have an International 444 with a 1550 loader on it. Works fine for my needs
