1952 Farmall Super c
I have a 1951 farmall super c with a fast-hitch. I can raise the fast-hitch
with no problem, but when I lower the fast-hitch it barley moves in the
downward direction. I can hear the hydraulic pump working hard to lower
the fast-hitch.
I have taken the block off the tractor that sets just in front the seat,
and spliced the hydraulic hoses together and the system works just
fine in both directions.
What is this block for?
Is it o.k. to use the fast-hitch without this block?
Any information will be helpful.

Thanks for your time,

deer hunter,

My Dad had a 1959 Farmall 200 (next gen Super C?). I remember that block, but since I wasn't into hydraulics back then (40 years ago) I'm not sure of its purpose either. I know that he owned that tractor for more then 30 years and never had a problem with the fast hitch ... I'm sure that someone here will have the answer soon!

Good luck.

That is a check valve block, so sounds like the check valve is stuck.

Neither of mine have them on them now. The one was Dad's, and not sure if he eliminated, or someone did before he bought it, and completely rebuilt it back in approx. '77.

I took mine off, probably 15 years ago, when I increased the hoses to 3/8", for a little speedier pick up, since I was using it on the finish mower.

It hasn't seemed to have caused any problems so far.
