Oil & Fuel Changing Oil question for my IH 574

Being new to this tractor, what oil should I use when I change it? Also, I'm not seeing a normal oil fill cap; do I fill the oil through the dipstick tube?

Which engine have you got, gas or diesel??

How much do you intend to use the tractor and for what sort of work??, is tractor going to be working hard on say cultivation & or pto work or just tootling around a small at evading??

I have the gas engine. Mostly utility work. I have a loader that I use a little to move some dirt. I have a plow to drag snow from the drive. I have a 5 foot woods mower deck for about 3 acres of pasture grass. When not in use, it stays inside a heated garage.

Best investment you can make is to buy an operator's manual. It will tell you how to check and fill all the fluids and what to use. It will also give you tune up specs. It will have a lot of other useful information. I just saw a reproduction on Ebay for $26.

Yes best suggestion is get an operators manual and follow recommendations in that, sorry no experience of gas engines in Europe!!

Ops manual will also show the oil filler!!
