Shrapnel in gear case

So my PTO has been chattering for a bit and no is occasionally kicking itself out of gear. So I pull the Mid-PTO assembly off to find what appears to be some small pieces of gear in the bottom of the case. She'll start coming apart tomorrow......

Just another short update. Just worked on it for about an hour tonight. Got the rest of the ROPS off and the remotes off

Hey pedal nice case what year and hp. I was thinking about upgrading from my new Holland to case 90hp. Great pics and work so far.

For tonight's update.....
I didn't do any work in the garage. It's 9:45 here and I'm still catching up on quotes for work...and I started at 6 AM. I did however receive the service manuals for the tractor today. From what I'm catching, it says:
remove entire tractor, piece by piece from PTO shafts and gears

This is gonna be expensive.....in parts and beer. LOL

oh my that looks like that has been a problem for a while?

When I got the tractor, the PTO lever was way out of adjustment making it so the gears didn't engage fully and starting the wear and eventual demise that you see here. Just ordered $550 worth of parts and we should be good to roll as soon as the big brown truck arrives.....
