Tried to do some work today 1982 384 wouldn't start. I removed fuel line from tank shutoff valve that goes to the fuel lift pump to check flow, good flow there. Before making this post I read some old posts were some others was having similar problems. After reading those post I notice that I had an extra hole on top of my tank. I was wondering was this hole causing all my problems. The hole is next to the gauge assembly fuel sender, it's about 1/4 in dia. My question is do anyone know what go into this and should it be closed or plugged? After reading other posts I'm thinking that this hole is causing air to get in the fuel system. (it's not the banjo bolt hole). Thanks for any help that anyone offer.
