As the title says I'm new to large(?) tractors. I've bought but haven't gotten to my home yet a Case tractor but have no idea what it is. A couple of members over at tractor forum said they think it's a Case 580B construction but looking at the pics of that tractor the frame doesn't match.

Thanks. I've looked at that site and bunch others and still haven't been able to get a positive ID. One thing I'd like to know is if there's somewhere that names out what the different parts of a tractor are. I read all kind of different names but have no clue as to what they are talking about.

Do you mean the plethora of acronyms like; FEL, PTO, 3PH, etc...

It looks like an updated version of our old 1967 year 3616 IH FEL Backhoe. Find out the engine displacement and that will help you identify the model. It looks to be a mid to late70's model unit. The FEL on our 3616 was rated to pick up 4500# at the pins. The front axle on those industrials are very robust.
