I'm looking at used 484, 584, 574, 784 etc tractors to use with a loader I already have here on the farm. I've found a 6100hr 584 that looks pretty straight for $5100.

I've got a 574 and 784 in the family already with 4000 or lower hours, they seem to be fine. How would you feel about one with 6000+ hours?

I'd say it all depends. 50 years of history that you don't know how it was maintained, or how hard it was used. Could have another 4000 hrs of life left??? Could need rebuilt in the next 200 hrs.

If the price is good enough you can still afford to rebuild if necessary in the next year or two, I wouldn't have a problem buying a higher hour machine.
