Value of IH 284

I inherrited a IH 284. Its about 20 to 25 yrs old. 2WD, 28 HP Gas with Ag tires. Less than 500 hrs and garage kept. Its needs to be cleaned up but in good condition. Its very basic, no hydraulics, no loader and really to small for my needs. I don't see this model listed much and would like to sell it but don't have a clue what this might be worth. Any thoughts? A dealer offered $ 2500 in trade.

Do you mean no aux hyd? Where is the tractor? bubbajo sounds southern. I might be interested if not too far and hr meter works.

I'd strongly suspect it is worth closer to 4000-6000$ private sale if it is in presentable condition. 2500 on trade sounds typical for around here.

I did a search on ironsolutions.com.
They showed three IH 284's ranging from $3500 to $4900. The $4900 one has a 60" MMM.
I would think you should have no problem selling the one you have for something in between those prices.

Wow maybe I should put my IH-364 on the market, I've just repainted it and it has about 50 hours on major engine and it's diesel, or maybe not I like the little tractor. Dave [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
