I'll know soon enough how the 545 cuts compared to 550 and 50cc 346.

I am betting that the 545 can cut with or out cut a stock 346 even though the paper specs dont show it.

Will be putting the 545 on the 3/8 diet plan too.

I couldnt stand it no more. Just bought a PP5020AV 50cc so I could run and check one out for myself.

Well worth the $200 usual price tag IMO for the occasional user or small time homeowner sawer. I paid $165.71 to my door delivered.

OUT OF THE BOX NEW and homeowner sawer would get disgusted pretty quick IMO. The saw carb was off the mark on L and I.

I checked factory settings and then put them back to see. L was 1.5 and H was 2 - 2.5 out (sorry cant remember H off hand).

It would start and not idle and shut off. Start and bog giving throttle.

I kept adjusting the carb till I ended up with about 3 out on L and left 2-2.5 on H at about 12.8K. Turned the I idle up too. Reminds me of the redmax carb and settings (which through me for a loop when I 1st got it), not like the 1 to 1.5 turns out we get used to.

Got to make some test cuts and I was ;D ear to ear.

Be warned make sure you have the splined carb tool $8-$14 and know how to tune a saw if buying NIB.

5020 545

This is the 5016. The bar is the black plain 16" 3/8 050 bars in K041 mount you can buy new still.

I converted this K041 mount long ago to be able to run it on my huskys too with K095 mount, so it works on the 5016 too. ;)

Mini gtg for stock saws no muffler mods 50cc under. Just for FUN.

The dolmar 5105 with 5100 muffler and partner 5000 are so close with the 346 50cc in bucking cuts stock for stock. I'm just going to use the 50cc 346 of those 3.

All will be running 3/8 7T and I dont look for the 45cc 4500 to pull 3/8 very well or maybe even the 49cc grey 3000 either (time will tell and I might get surprised). I know the others love 3/8 and 16", same chain will be run on them all. stock off reel stihl rsc

What do you use to rejuvenate the plastic? I heard once that pledge furniture polish does it? What about the gas tanks on Stihls?

I dont. I'm not one of those guys that worry about the appearance of my plastics or saws.

I only worry about mechanical being 100% ready to go.
