Mad as a raped ape, or wise as an owl because you saved a ton of money?

Whew! I was on pins and needles until I saw that it started. Sounds like the previous owner did not know how to set the carb. Now if you can locate the bar...

Yes, a bar would be nice. The Epay seller is out till tomorrow.
They have a few emails from me to read.

I can't wait to tear it down and clean it up!

Wait, the bar from my Stihl Mini Boss 009, and it's chain should
fit the 445 till I get the 18" bar they owe me yes?

Ha! Well, indeed, in my eyes, I think I did well, providing the seller
stands tall and reimburses me for a bar.

It looks like it will clean up Nicely!

Under $180.00 and as clean as it looked, w/ free-shippin', just screamed "Deal", to me.

As I think I suggested before, I think I want one
of those chainsaw debarking tools, like a Log Wizard
or the like and this saw might be a good dedicated
Debarkin' tool. I sent out an RFQ locally for a 555 and
a 562XP with;

3 cans Husky mixed fuel (For the 4 year warranty deal)
1- 24" Husky bar
2- 24" Husky chain
1- Spark Plug
1- Air cleaner

Glad you finally got it started.

I am surprised they didnt drain the fluids. And even more surprised the package wasnt confiscated.

It is unlikely the bar from your stihl 009 will work. Stihls typically use a much larger slot for the bar studs. hey make kits you can buy with larger studs to put a stihl bar on a husky mount, but I wouldnt go that route.

And if for some reason you can make it work, you have to make sure its the right pitch. That saw is likely either .325 pitch or 3/8 low profile. And the are NOT interchangeable. Pull the cover off, and look and see what the drive rim says says to make sure you get the right bar and chain.

I think someone had asked if I would give a review of the 445 Husky I
recently bought on ebay.

It was I think $180.00 w/ ride BUT the seller SUCKS HARD and they placed
the bar on edge, it wore a hole in the thin cardboard and it is clogging
a UPS conveyor somewhere between here and the Midwest now.

The seller proclaimed I HAVE 100 INSURANCE an promptly told
me to go get it....sigh...........

I found a Husky OE 72DL bar for $40.00 including ride...

When I got the saw I took it apart and cleaned it quickly w/
pressurized air and some wd40 and dang! It is almost a flawless
saw. I even pulled the muffler and looked at the piston and
it was just a light brown color and not a scratch anyplace on it.

This saw really gets up on the pipe and spins like a raped ape.
It is a noodler when the chain is sharp.

It would be a great limbing saw I do believe and OK for smaller
diameter trees and great for firewood use. It really is sweet, alas I do
want a MUCH stronger saw.

Reminds me of the 50cc 450.. Wonder same chassis?

...interesting, 9K RPM Both but the 445 out spins the .4 HP larger 450 by an RCH.

Chain speed at max power for the 445=56.89 fts and the 450= 56.76 fts

What the heck is an "fts" ? Full Teeth per Second ?
