New Saw on the Way!!!

Welcome to the 90CC club.

Good advice on the DP, or open up the muffler in other ways.

IF you use non-Stihl chain you might want to get a high output oiler.

Stihl, in it's effort to please EPA, has tweaked the Stihl chains so the 660 adequately oils them, but just barely and they put on a small muffler. 660's sold in Australia COME with a DP muffler AND a high output oiler.

I've a pair of 660's which I upgraded the oilers and mufflers on:

and an 088

The 088 oils fine.

When you get these saws muff modded and ported they are an entirely different saw.

I wear ear muffs AND plugs, for silent sawing.

Newbury, thanks for the good advice. How did you get the volume up on the oil pump? Did you replace it with another model pump?

Here is a picture next to my 361. The 660 makes it look like a toy:)

Makes my arms tired just looking at it! I have an 025 & a 310 (as well as a Stihl blower, tiller & string trimmer)! What can I say, I guess I love orange!

Did you look into the ES Light bar? It cost more, but for long bars it is very worth it. I have a 28" ES Light bar for my 461, and it weighs the same as the standard 20" bar. Really improves handling and reduces fatigue, as there is no "nose-heavy" behavior with the long bar.

I run ES bars on all three saws. So far I'm pretty happy with them.
