I have a Stihl 028 Wood Boss I bought in '80. I lived just down Lynnhaven Pkwy from the
factory then and still had to go thru one of the dealers. Great saw, still have and use it.

In the late 70's my dad bought a Stihl 045 Super with a 20" bar. It has been a great saw and still looks very good. Ever since I have been a Stihl believer. :)

A while back I got a ported muffler off of ebay and installed it.

I also bid on a 2 stoke tachometer to help me adjust the carb. I finally got it set. The high end is supposed to be 13,500 rpm and I used up all of the adjustment but was able to hit the number perfectly. :) Now I just need to be patient and wait for my next big tree project to come along.

Did you get the aftermarket DP cover that runs about $20. If so after some run time let me know how they hold up.

The new oem ones have went out of site price wise.

I bought the aftermarket one.

?

Any time on that aftermarket DP cover? You got just the front cover?

I just bought a whole afm DP muffler assembly for a 440 to try out. Old oem one was smashed by a tree. Customers aka friends saw.

I got the outer aftermarket ported muffler. No significant cutting time yet.
As soon as I get to use it I will post the results.
