Wow, even that seems high.

I am not a stihl fan. Just look at my Sig...Obviously:laughing:

My cousin bought a brand new MS310 a few years ago that I muffler modded. $400 from the dealer.

Only reason I clicked on this ad is cause of the price, I assumed it was a 440/460 or 650/660 or similar large "pro" saw. Was shocked when I seen it was just a 310

Pass. Find a pro class saw for under $500.

The guy probably doesn't understand the pro vs farm saws. That price would be about right for a 441 or 461 used, not a 310

Yep , $539 from the Dealer for a MS311 , part of the Farm and Ranch line .

Along the same lines as the guy with the ad is doing , I sometimes spend time cruisin ebay looking at / seeing . These same type " Deals " !! :D

Basically . I just pick out something in my head , could be a toy or tool or whatever , then do a ebay search and look at all the variance in price . Then I'll open up a new tab in windows , utilizing either bizrate.com or smarter.com , do another search for same product .

The part that amazes Me is when you see product " A " being bid on by 5 people , with $100 being current high bid , But you could go to Amazon and with Prime , get same item for $85 and free 2 day shipping !!!

Course then there are those " Deals " were I can buy Tool " X " for $40 with free shipping in a " Buy it Now " auction , Yet I could go to Harbor Freight and get the exact item for $29 , ( and that is before using a 20% or 25% off coupon ) . :confused3:

Was it Bill Engvall that said , " You can't fix Stupid " !!

I see that too all the time on ebay. Looking for something (usually a tool or similar popular item) and see that you can buy it now for ...say...$200.

You will see LOTS of people that have the stuff listed up to $400+

Are they really selling any? Why take the time to even post the darn ad?

Of course it could have been a typo and he never checked the add. I called once on a jobox a guy was selling cheap with little more than a picture and a price. He asked why I was calling about a jobox. I told him because he was advertising one for sale. He had his son pull up the CL add and the guy about carped his pants. He didn't use computers and his son didn't know what he was supposed to post a picture of.
