ok, I am on my third time putting the cv bearings back in the front driveshaft of my 01 jm 254. Can anyone point me towards a permanent solution? Unfortunately, I am getting pretty good at this now........
Yes, the circlip is popping off, and sliding back on the shaft, allowing the balls to drop... This time, I wasn't even working it. I have been, the last few days, moving snow (20 plus inches in the last month). However, today, I was just trying to move it back to the garage. It's been a rough month, between the mentally challenged Volvo, the "POP" then no run honda, the vandalized honda, and the snow. Waah.![]()
Both circlips are supposed to be covered by what the parts list calls a "dust cap". It's #6 in the diagram. I'd call lit a sliding collar. Have you perhaps lost one (or both)? Or does it perhaps not cover the circlip properly? Another possibility is the wrong sized clip. Pretty sure it's 24mm (inside diameter).Yes, the circlip is popping off, and sliding back on the shaft, allowing the balls to drop...
