Re: Cat 247B engine problems
Are you in steep country ? Sometimes an air lock can form in the extreme ends of an engine in steep terrain causing hot spots in the head . Which can result in a cracked head , blown head gasket or on dozers cooked pre combustion chamber "O" rings . If you think this may have happened , a radiator header tank off of a truck mounted as high as you can may prevent it re-occuring .

Yep-mines new too....1200 hours she let go...But not because of overheating..was sucking pure dust into the turbo and engine from a disconnected air inlet pipe....is yours a "B" model? or a 247 plain...Cat 3024T or Cat 3024?
