Could be up to 1956. Does it have electric start on the starting engine?

BoB got a answer from Sonny on another sight ,that it is a 1950 , has pony motor , wide track , have been to just about ever sight I could think of and no serial numbers for the little Cat, just general numbers like from so and so to so and so, I think it is a 1950 myself , will see if other people come up with the real year
Than:thumbsup:ks

Check it out with a Cat dealer.

The early '50's and prior had a rope start starting engine, mid '50's had an electric start starting engine, and also a direct electric start conversion eliminating the starting engine.
LGP (wide) tracks were/are available on most all models of crawlers.

(I apologize for not using colloquial terminology - been through too many Cat schools I guess.)

Somehow the image of rope starting a 'dozer is hard to fathom :confused2:

I know. The D2 was the only one that had the opposed piston starting enging with rope start- that I can remember anyway. The rest had a hand crank, like a Model-T Ford (for the starting engine).
