An outfit in CT sells a bolt on set of bolt on loader forks rated to lift up to 8000lbs and they also sell a bolt on non-hydraulic thumb for most TLB's.

I dont know how to weld so this seems like a good option for me.

Does anyone currently use either one? Pro's/Cons?

Thanks, Gary

I' ve got a set of the forks that hook on top of
bucket, thru 4 c shape steel plates.
The problem is u can't see the forks or load w/
bucket in place w/o a spotter.
I bought 4 10k fork lifts to rob parts and the front
assy from one of the better ones to replace bucket
on my 710 Deere.
It will be pin on but lots better to use.

If you click on this link, you'll see the backhoe I use at work. One of them.

It's very nice to have a thumb, but the mechanical thumb gets really annoying sometimes. With a hydraulic, you can move either bucket or thumb whenever you want to get a better grip of something, but putting a hyd. thumb on a backhoe can be a lot of work. That's what my boss said at least. Anyway....they do help.

Found this thumb for a BH on attachmentsexpress.com for $130 is a mechanical type and a bolt on.

I have been looking to get one for my B21 and if you have info on the co in CT that makes them let me know. Ideally it would be nice to have the Hyd version for ease of use but thats costly with Valve, mounting etc..
