That B&O Museum is a fantastic place to visit and I heartedly recommend.
    Another fun visit is this:
Strasburg Rail Road - Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
This one also has a fun museum as well as a train ride in beautiful Lancaster County, PA

If you are ever in ther area of Cass West Va and like trains. Ride the old Shay logging locomotive to the top of the summit. Another good carbon foot print. The smell of it really takes you back in time.

New GE commercial, 48 hour trip from Florida to New Jersey in 156 seconds. If you never ridden in the cab of an engine before this is about as close as it gets.

Ive had to sit and wait for the Big Boy and the Challenger to go by a few times. They are more like a living breathing animal than machine.

I couldn't have said it better.
When I was a kid I used to wait for SP's cab forward articulateds to come over Altamont Pass. They were real ground-pounders.
