Uncut grass in middle?

My 2007 DYS 4500 is cutting perfect on both sides - but in the middle there is maybe 5 inches not being cut very well (it is being cut, but not as short as the rest.)

The measurements of my deck are:

42 inches wide

the back is 3 1/4 up off the ground and the front is 2 inches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

P.S. the end of the shaft assembly (where the blade attaches) is eaten up. could this be causing this problem OR be making noise? I am waiting on the replacement to arrive.

I haven't used that model but with a walk behind that means you need to sharpen the blade and go slower.

Are both of the mandrels set tight and level? I ask this cause on my Husqvarna 42" RIDING mower, i had uneven cutting being done and i found that one of the mandrel towers (the things that hold the blades) was damaged and forcing that side blade to cut an an angle. Thing is that one side was too short, the middle was too high, and the other side was just right...kinda like Goldie locks.
