My Cub Cadet GT3200 lost all hydraulics all at once. Not forward/reverse, no steering, no front lift (353 snow thrower). I changed the hydraulic oil and filter and warmed it up over night. (South Hero Vermont) Ideas? Is there electrical to this? I recently have lost the power actuator to the PTO and added some lights and wonder if they are related? The fuses by the battery are in tact. I don't like that sinking feeling in my gut when a piece of equ goes down and "it sounds expensive". Any help or possibilities would be greatly appreciated.. --scottd

It sounds like your charge pump went out. I know that there have been a few posts about charge pumps within the past year so you can check that out. If you are mechanical it is something that you should be able to replace yourself. I take the fenders off to get at the pump, but I have heard of guys who have gotten at it by taking just the seat off. Good Luck

It more then likely is the charge pump. They run about $250 - $300. Taking the funders off is the easiest way to change it out.

Thank you, Thank you! I have something to try now!. If a inept equipment owner failed to do ANY maintenance on the hydraulics for the first 300 hours, is it worth trying to replace the filter that I see on this pump? ? I知 just sayin? To the Cold shed he goes..

I go the charge pump off with just the seat off and took it apart. I am a big fan of silver flake paint on a car with some clear coat but I am guessing that metal flake in the hydraulics is less than helpful. I will attempt to upload some pictures. Comments on how bad this looks? I know nothing about Hydraulics and am OJT'ing as fast as I can. Cleaning it up and putting it back together? Is it worth a try or just buy the rebuild kit for 300 dollars that I can't wait to spend.

Why is it that wives don't like the smell of, or the parts of, hydraulics at the dinner table? I did notice that once you declare that we are looking at 300 dollars of fix that all the sudden it is more accepted and requests of not to touch it are honored.

The silver flakes you see are probably from a gear that seems to be missing from your photos. You can buy a new charge pump from Savilles outdoor equipment in orchard park ny (on-line for $225.00) or you can buy the rebuild part for about $125.00--I would go for the new pump in case you did any more damage to it that you can't tell. There was one a used one on ebay last week for $100.00 You could check and see if it is still there.

Something else to start thinking about.....How to flush all those metal flakes and bits and pieces from the system.
