My LT 2042 which has about 300 hours slows down but not fast enough when I let up on either of the forward or reverse pedal. I tried lubricating all the linkage and it did seem help a little but still not enough.
Does anyone have any ideas on what would cause this and how to correct it??

Thanks for any input.

Assuming you have an HST transmission, and as this problem is occurring in forward and reverse, the HST neutral switch requires a little adjustment. On my Kubtoa B3300SU the switch was under the tractor, subject to brush hitting it.

There's a neutral adjustment procedure in the owners manual. If you don't have the manual you can download it here after entering the model number which I believe is 13A-286G710 for the LT2042.
You might also wan check to make sure the spring is still attached that returns the linkage to neutral.

I have a 2165 that I bought used and it creeped in neutral after all the adjustments. When it came time to change the hydraulic oil I used the Cub oil and filter, solved the creeping immediately. I don't know what oil was in it before.
