I got my new LT1050 and it powered throught 18" tall grass like a champ ... but I took it real slow. Then after I was finnished I took it for a spin around the yard at full throttle and I was amazed that it would not move faster than 8 or 9 MPH. In reverse this beast screams it is soooo fast!!! But, in forward it runs like an old lady.

Any assistance or tips would be a great help!!!

The Cub Cadet website says the 1050 has a forward speed of 0-5.2 mph and reverse speed of 0-2.3. Sounds like the pedal linkage is out of ajustment on the reverse side.

This sounds like linkage as OldMachinist said. Even on old Cubs like mine if the linkage is not set right or it loosens, it will do the same thing.
