Hi everyone...I'm new to being a Cub owner. I've always liked the look of the 1864s and I finally found one in my price range. picked it up for $500...needing only front tires.

My question...I live in Pa. and have a tracked Cub Cadet snowblower, but I'd like to find a snowblower for the front of the 1864 and sell the walk behind to help offset the cost....but I'm having trouble loacting any type of list or chart that shows the model #'s of the attachments for the 1864. The model # system that Cub Cadet uses is confusing...it seems every thing has two model #'s...one listed on the unit and then an "ACTUAL" model # on the units ID tag!! I believe a Model 451 is te proper snowblower.

Is this correct?...Will another actually work?

Is there any way to decifer a actual model number like this (#190-303-100) into the units other model number?

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer...now if it were only 80degrees here and sunny....I'm dying to use this rig!!

Thanx
Tom

CC often makes multiple attachments (sometimes only slightly different from one another) for each tractor model. Unfortunately, the process of identifying which attachments mate with which tractor models is often very difficult without access to a CC dealer. I own a 1995 1864 hydro and a 1995 model 190-551-100 snow blower (45" two-stage w/ drift cutters and a 16" four-bladed impeller and 22" auger housing). I bought the tractor used in 2002 and the blower separately in 2003 from different sources. I was lucky to even find a blower for my tractor model having been several years old at that time. By some stroke of luck I found a brand new blower at my local CC dealer still on it's original skid. They had just received 2 identical models in from a CC dealer in the Carolina's who had mistakenly ordered them new back in 1995 and simply never got around to returning them to MTD. My local dealer (here in Michigan) is fairly large and received the call from the dealer in the Carolinas asking if they could sell them the two blowers. They did. It was a total coincidence that I phoned looking for that very same model blower just two weeks later. I should have also bought a lottery ticket with that kind of luck!

You can hang either a 451 or 551 blower with that tractor. The 551 is a far superior blower. Built stronger, bigger and faster rpm. Cub is still using the same base design for their 3000 series, and even the older small compact tractor blowers. You can still find them out there.....good luck!

Attached are a couple photos of my 551 blower the day I brought it home, and mounted on my 1864.

p.s.: This thing can really throw the snow. I can easily send it 20-30 feet through the air at full throttle!
