A guy I know has a 1572 with a kubota diesel with a 60" belly mower for sale for $2,250. Can anyone fill me in on this model.

Is it a IH or MTD product?

How does it compair to my old 3184 I had?

Are parts available for them still?

I must say I was not impressed by either the 2544 or the 3184 I had before.

I am also looking at a Kubota B7100 with a 60" belly mower as well for $3,800.

I only have $3,800 to spend with the Cub I still have money to spend, but I want to get enough tractor to.

I have a really bad taste about Cub's because of the two previous ones I had, but both of those were made by MTD.

Any thoughts???

it was made in 1988 so that would make it a Cub Cadet Corporation tractor.IH sold out in 81.CCC is apart of MTD.I know a guy that has a 1572 he works at Case IH and has maybe 10 or more Cub IH and Cub cadet Gt's Most of them are red ones. But his Super GT 1572 is one of his favorites. If i recall he changed the batt to a side post the top post batteries are very close to the hood.He also did something diff to the glow plugs. The tractor design as far as i can tell is about the same as the IH design.
The 1572 is about 975lb your 3184 about 750lb and your 2544 about 800lb according to a book i have.
I have had good luck with CC Their is not much i would trade my 3235(1100lbs) for.But to be honest the 3184 and 2544 are not on my list of garden tractors to get.But the SGT 1572 is for what ever that is worth?

How does your SGT 1872 compare to a SGT 1572?

And how does your GT 3235 compare to a SGT 1572? Is the SGT better built?

Thanks

First i want to let you know i am no expert, far from it.I have been getting into the CC garden tractor a little more and more but i have a long ways to go.But that said i will try to help.
I have a IH 782 CC 1872 and CC 3235 is the SGT Built better? It has a bigger front axle than the 782 but not bigger than the 3235.The 3235 and the 782 have a cast iron case transmission the 1872 is aluminum. This is were you loose some weight in the rear.the SGT has dual brakes and pedal control(like a real tractor). The 3235 has differential locks like a large tractor and personally i use more.

Frame 1572- 78.5".....1872 -78.5"....3235-74".....782-?
F tire 18x8.5 18x5.5 16x7.5 16x6.5
R tire 26x12 26x12 24x10.5 23.10.5
weight 976 985 1100 855
HP 15 18 25 17

Back to one of your questions 1572 vs 1872 they look the same but the big thing imo would be liquid cooled and diesel engine in the 1572 makes for longer engine life.Don't let the HP scare you off.Go to Home Depot or Lowes and you will see lawn tractors with 27hp.Trust me that means nothing. That 15 will destroy them.I know because i had a 27hp cheaper Cub and my 17 hp 782 would laugh at it if it could.

evan,
if you need more than what the 3184 you had could do, then get the kubota b7200. i test drove a super at the same time as my 3185 and ill tell you, its a little taller, and a little longer, but thats about it. i could have traded my 3185 for a vgc 1872 a few months ago and i passed. everyone SAYS the old ih cubs are better built than the CCC cubs, but the 3000 series has a bigger front axle, more metal in the frame, weighs more, has the nice power steering, and the nice foot control hydro. im not seeing where the sgt has an advantage over a 3000 aside from the indie brakes. i know im going to catch alot of crap for this, but the ONLY real advantage of the old cubs over the new ones is that the new ones will break the bank to accessorize. like i said, if the 3184 wasnt enough, then the 1572 wont be enough either. just get the kubota and call it done.

A 1572 has a diesel. Plus this one has a brand new 60" deck. I have a lot of trees to mower around and it would be much easier then the kubota to mow with.

I need something to mow with and move fire wood and snow with. I really needed two tractors.

So I decided to get the following because it is what I could afford and should be able to do most of the work.
I am getting a Wheel horse 416 8 speed with a factor wheel horse loader, cat 0 3 point, and hard steel cab for $1,600. This is a very clean unit as well. I think it is worth at least $2,500. Oh well his loss my gain.

I am also going to get the 1572 for $2,250 and use it just for mowing. I might put a blower on it some day but not right away.

The kubota is also 4 hours from my house and I really did not want to drive that far to get it. It is a very clean tractor though.

I hope the 1572 works out for me. I am not worried at all about the Wheel horse because it is a friend of mine and I know what it can do and how well it has been taken care of.

IMO you got a awesome lineup. You may have to make a repair here and there. But knowing the history like on your WH puts you way ahead of the game,

I can't argue with that like i said before my 3235 takes a back seat to no one.

ive been told that the fel on a garden tractor does not make a good machine. i dont know from experience. im told that they dont lift enough to make them worthwhile. i think the 1572 would be great for cutting grass, but i wouldnt expect any more from a gt. if your good with the wheel horse for the fel, then thats your call, but i dont see where this combination is going to do any better than your 3184 did. i also dont know what your problems were with that. youve gotta remember, with the 1572 and the 412-8, your not getting a more capable tractor than the 3184, theyll still just be garden tractors. i end up weedwacking around all my trees anyway if i wana get real close, and the 3000 series has a much tighter turn radius than the sgt. i just dont believe this is the right move for you, it really sounds like you need something like a b series kubota.

Does anyone know if the 1572 comes with rear pto from the factory, or did you have to add this on as an option?

What model number snowblowers will work on this?
What model number front blade will work on this?

I plan on using this for mostly mowing and pulling some trailers, but It would be nice if I could pick up attachments fairly cheap.

Thanks
